| Maybe you like computers, math, and science, but you haven't chosen a specific major or career yet. Or maybe you have chosen a major - like music or journalism - that doesn't require a lot of math or science, but you don't want to give up your interest in those areas.
The Explorations in Computing, Mathematics, and Science Living-Learning Community is a home base for students who want to explore math and science topics with faculty and students from a
variety of disciplines, including computer science, geoscience, physics and astronomy and mathematics.
Required course 610:030-Explorations in Computing, Mathematics, and Science.
Activities may include:
- Help sessions for your math and science courses;
- Offering tutoring to others who don't have your skills;
- Movie nights that center on science fact and fiction;
- Participation in research talks and lab tours given by faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences;
- Eligibility for short courses on interesting math and science topics; and
- A variety of field trips, such as visiting interesting geological formations or checking out the optical telescopes at the University's Van Allen Hall.
