Living in a living-learning community can give you an edge in the classroom. It's a place where:

  • you're never far from a study partner
  • special programs and events enhance and support your course work; and
  • faculty members offer extra interaction and guidance.

It's also fun. There's a bond that forms among students in the living-learning communities, and when it's time to put away the books, the residents participate in the same kinds of recreational and social activities found on any other floor-- like film screenings, game nights, or ice cream outings.

Living in a living-learning community is not only a great academic opportunity with a great group of people, it's a chance to build a support network and make lasting friendships.

Your floormates in the living-learning community will be other first- and second-year students with the same major or similar interests. Many communities have common courses so that students will spend time together in classes. Outside of class, you can meet to share ideas about information you've learned.
