| Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Living-Learning Community |
The Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program supports this living-learning community, which is made up of first, second, and third-year women majoring in an array of science, technology, engineering, and math disciplines. New students have the advantage of living with upperclass women who have already successfully completed their first year and therefore are well prepared to help with the academic, social, and emotional transitions to campus life.
As part of this community, you can:
- participate in study groups, peer tutoring, and advising sessions;
- attend presentations on research opportunities, community service and volunteer activities, as well as career exploration;
- learn from tutors who come to the community on weekday nights;
- give back by returning to your alma mater to talk about the importance of taking math and science in high school and to discuss the transition to college life; and
- take part in a buddy program with an upperclass student on your floor.
