Buying Local is Delicious
Residential Dining customers learned that "Buying Local" can be delicious! At the Apple Extravaganza (held at Burge Market Place on 10/ 16 and Hillcrest Market Place on 10/21), Market Place customers got a chance to taste items created with apples purchased from local Wilson's Orchard. The meal, which included sliced pork loin with roasted apples and cinnamon, cornbread, Dutch apple pie and fresh apple cider, was a flavorful reminder that Residential Dining purchases local, fresh products whenever possible. Executive Chef, Barry Greenberg, prepared the pork loin and the pie was created by Market Place bakers. The cider was served by Paul Rash, owner of Wilson's and members of the orchard staff, who answered questions about the apple business and the advantages of buying locally.
