If the heat's not on, the toilet runs, or anything else is not right with your apartment, please let us know right away. Our maintenance staff is ready to help.

During Office Hours
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., maintenance staff will respond to work requests through a written maintenance work order that is issued by the office. If you need repairs to your apartment electrical service, plumbing, heating system, windows, locks, or other items, call (5-9199) or come to the office to complete a maintenance work order. Parklawn residents should call the Parklawn Office at 5-2854 or stop by the Parklawn Office. A feedback copy of the work order will be left in your apartment after maintenance has responded. The feedback copy will note that either the work has been completed or the reason staff were unable to complete the work. If the work is not completed to your satisfaction, call the University Apartments Office or Parklawn Office to explain the problem. Because of the unpredictable workload, it is not possible for the offices to make appointments for mechanics to be in your apartment at a specified time to perform maintenance work. We make an effort to do all work as soon as possible.

After Hours
If you encounter a maintenance issue that requires immediate assistance after regular University Apartment Office and Parklawn Office hours, contact the community assistant on-call at 319-325-4747. If you are unable to reach this number, you may call the 24-hour West Campus desk at 5-9170. If the staff person on call determines that your maintenance problem cannot wait until the next day, a University Apartments mechanic will come to your apartment. If it is discovered that repairs are necessary due to carelessness and/or neglect, you will be charged for 3-hours minimum of labor and parts.

Pest Control
Each apartment will receive a pest control treatment twice a year. Additional pest control treatment is available free of charge on Tuesday and Thursdays. If you notice any pests, contact the University Apartments Office as soon as possible.
