Holidays at the IMU


With many new and exciting additions to the show this year, the Iowa Memorial Union will be a fun holiday destination.

The University of Iowa Fine Arts Council proudly presents the 2015 Holiday Thieves’ Market! This show features over 100 artists with works ranging from pottery, glass, painting, photography, textiles, and more.

Holiday Thieves’ Market will be held on Saturday, December 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Iowa Memorial Union, located in downtown Iowa City. The event is free and open to the public.

A new event this year is Holiday with the Chefs on Saturday, December 5. This culinary experience will inspire with new interpretations of seasonal favorites from around the world. Chef stations will include tastes from Parisian pastries to New American entrees. This mix, mingle and graze event includes unlimited gourmet food sampling. Visit to purchase your ticket.

The Festival of Trees is another addition to the Holiday weekend at the IMU when beautifully decorated trees will be available for bidding during this year’s festival. All proceeds will benefit the Crisis Center of Johnson County.
