Resident Satisfaction Survey

In the fall of 2004, University Housing & Dining partnered with Educational Benchmarking Inc. (EBI) to conduct our first on-line assessment of student satisfaction in the residence halls. Our Resident Satisfaction Survey OR “Tell Us What You Think?” survey asks questions ranging from Desk Services to Satisfaction with Fellow Residents to Safety/Security.

This year’s survey at the University of Iowa will be administered electronically to every student living the residence halls. A total of 6,498 invitations to participate were sent on November 26. The survey will conclude on December 12. Four reminders and links will be sent out during the period to give students ample time to answer the questions at their convenience. If you accidentally delete your invitation or reminder, contact your RA and another one will be sent to you.

What you tell us will make a difference in how the residence halls are operated. Based on past surveys, University Housing & Dining has extended our serving hours in the market places, we upgraded the wireless access points in the halls, we have responded to concerns about the temperature in residence hall rooms, we have expanded our residence hall recycling program, we added healthier food options to the dining menu, and we changed the entire way we conduct programming in the residence halls based on student feedback, to name a few changes.

And here is the best part: every student who completes this survey will be entered in a random drawing for 21 different prizes. This year’s prizes are $25 IMU Bookstore gift certificates and $25 bonus packages of Hawkeye Dollars to be placed directly on the student’s university account. There is also one “group prize” for the floor with the highest percentage survey return rate.

We understand you receive a lot of surveys, but please choose the University Housing & Dining Resident Satisfaction Survey! Your feedback is important to us.
