We are pleased to announce that scholarships are available for students who are currently living in the residence halls and/or will return to the University of Iowa next year, or to students who currently working anywhere within University Dining. Each scholarship has its own unique criteria.
David Coleman Scholarship – awarded to a current residence hall student who has overcome adversity to be successful at the University of Iowa. This adversity can be medical, physical, economic, family circumstance or other situations the student has had to overcome to attend the UI. Any current residence hall student may apply directly for this $900 scholarship, and they do not need to live in the halls for 2017-2018 to qualify. Applications are due by April 12, 2017.
11th Annual Food Service Student Employee Scholarships –This $750 scholarship will be awarded to selected individuals who work anywhere within University Dining and meet the required criteria. Six scholarships will be awarded, and the scholarship will be credited to the recipient's university account in the fall of 2017. Interested student employees should complete the application and submit before March 25, 2017.
George L. Droll Award – goes to a nominated resident who demonstrates good citizenship on his/her floor. Students, RAs or hall staff can nominate a resident for this $1,500 award. Nominee then writes a short essay. (Resident must plan to live in the halls for 2017-2018.) Nominations are due March 27, 2017.
