The ball is in your court! This community is for students who are looking to get involved in the sport and recreation industry. You will learn what it takes to put on major sporting events, connect with current faculty, network with sport professionals at both locally and regionally, and explore career options.

Programming for Sport and Recreation Management

Sport and Recreation Management is a new community for 2016-2017. Programming and opportunities for this community may include the following:

  • Connecting with faculty and staff who work in the Sport Recreation and Management program
  • Networking with professionals in the field
  • Learn what it takes to manage a major sporting event
  • Volunteering with Iowa City Parks and Recreations
  • Tour sporting facilities at Iowa, such as Kinnick Stadium and Carver Hawkeye Arena

Courses

Many of our Living Learning Communities require an academic course in common, which connects to the theme of the LLC. The courses that we offer are a great way for students to connect with their peers around their academics and form personal relationships with Iowa faculty, as well as delve deeper into the theme of their LLC. Courses for the 2017-2018 academic year have not yet been selected, so keep checking back for updates as we finalize course selection.

Who Lives Here
