Student Success Coaches

Are you struggling to make connections with other students? Do you need someone to help you make a plan to achieve your academic goals? Do you need some extra help organizing your time?

Residence Education offers Student Success Coaches to help with these things and so much more. Student Success Coaches (SSC) support students as they navigate their academic, personal, and social transition to the University of Iowa. SSCs hold walk-in hours and facilitate group chats each week concerning common first-year experiences such as:

Coaches can help with:

  • Goal Setting
  • Time Management
  • Study Skills
  • Test Taking
  • Connecting with Peers
  • Getting Involved on Campus
  • Connecting to Campus Resources
  • Homesickness

The cost is free! Making the transition to a new school, with higher expectations on academic performance, and greater pressure to make new friends can be a lot to handle during your first-year. Let us help you come up with a plan for success!
