To apply for an apartment, you will need to log into our online application portal by entering MyUI. MyUI is the university’s student information system. Each student is assigned a Hawk ID and password during the early stages of their admission application process. If you don’t remember your Hawk ID and/or password, contact the Office of Admissions at 319-335-3847 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
Please apply using our online application. Log into MyUI (MyUI.uiowa.edu) using your HawkID and password to access the online portal. Click the “Student Records” tab. Under the “Student Life Management” heading, click on “Housing Online Application.” Follow the instructions on the screen to apply.
There is a non-refundable application fee of $50. A credit card is needed to pay the non-refundable application fee. An application may be canceled through the Hawkeye Drive portal any time prior to an apartment being offered. When an apartment is offered, the applicant is given a deadline to respond to the offer. If the applicant cancels the application, declines, or fails to respond to the offer by the deadline, the application is removed from the apartments’ waiting list. If the applicant accepts the offer and cancels the reservation prior to signing the lease, the applicant will be removed from the waiting list. A new application and application fee of $50 will need to be submitted to be considered for another apartment.
Housing is assigned on the basis of the date of receipt of application.
Application for Hawkeye Drive must be made for a specific move-in date. Only one application per family unit is permitted. All subsequent applications will be disregarded. All changes of address need to be made through the Admissions or Registrar’s Office. A change in apartment preference or in desired move-in date must be submitted in writing to the Hawkeye Drive Office. A decline of an apartment offer will require a new application and application fee.
