Emergency repairs

If you have any issues with your door not locking or other concerns listed in our emergency repairs list in the dropdown below, you should speak with your hall front desk immediately

Non-emergency repairs

Our custodial and maintenance teams work seven days a week to provide maintenance, repairs and cleaning services to maintain your residence hall home. Custodial hours are from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and maintenance hours are from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Pest control issues

Please submit a work order for insects or pests concerns in your room. However, for rodents or higher level concerns, please go to your front desk to submit a work order. 

Wi-Fi

Any internet, Wi-Fi or cable issues please contact the ITS Help Desk. A work order is not advised for these issues. 

Adjustments to bed configurations

Requests to change your bed configuration can be made online using the workorder system. When submitted a bed configuration request, make sure to include the type of configuration you would like and which side of the room the bed is on to change. 

When standing in the doorway of your room and looking into the room, the bed on the left side is bed 1 and the bed on the right side is bed 2. 

Bed configuration changes will be completed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday and will be managed in the order in which they are received as staffing allows.

Please note:

  1. If there is a documented disability accommodation that needs to be supported, our team will make that a priority, and please understand that same-day adjustments may not be possible.
  2. The team managing configuration changes works until 3:30 p.m. Requests submitted in the late afternoon or evening will not be queued until the next day. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

 

Repair types

Non emergency repairs

  • Light bulb replacement
  • Sticky locks
  • Window screens replacement
  • Furniture repairs
  • Paging phone issues
  • Doors that are sticky, squeaky, hard to open or close but are otherwise operational
  • Shower heads that are not working

Emergency repairs

  • Keys stuck in locks or room locks that are not working
  • Non-resident room doors that are not closing/locking properly
  • Doors that are unlocked that should be locked or doors that are locked that should be unlocked
  • Messes that need cleaning up (vomit, blood, urine, broken glass and food or drink spills)
  • Elevators that are malfunctioning
  • Malfunctioning equipment that cannot wait until the next working day (e.g. overflowing toilets, faucets that won't shut off)
  • Vital equipment that needs replacing (e.g. all toilet paper missing from a bathroom, all light bulbs removed from an area)
  • Problems with heat in rooms
  • Broken windows

All work orders are processed through an online system for non-emergency repairs.
