Requesting a bed configuration change

Before move-in

Submit your bed configuration request in your housing application after selecting/receiving your room assignment.

During the year

  • Discuss any changes with your roommates as an adjustment will impact all residents.
  • Include the following information in the work order notes:
    • Which bed needs to be adjusted. When standing in the doorway looking into the room, is the bed on the left or the right side of the room?
    • Desired configuration: high loft or high captain
  • Work orders can be submitted online: housing.uiowa.edu/fix-it. Once received, your bed will be adjusted in the order in which it was received.

Prepare your room

  • Our facilities team will visit your room between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday to adjust configurations.
  • A clear path is needed to adjust the bed.
  • Personal items should be removed from the bed and area.

Reminders

  • We work quickly to complete all bed configuration changes. Please understand that bed changes may not occur within our normal 48-hour work order turnaround time.
  • Unique room layouts may not accommodate all bed requests.
  • All furniture must remain in the room when a bed is configured.
