Requesting a bed configuration change
Before move-in
Submit your bed configuration request in your housing application after selecting/receiving your room assignment.
During the year
- Discuss any changes with your roommates as an adjustment will impact all residents.
- Include the following information in the work order notes:
- Which bed needs to be adjusted. When standing in the doorway looking into the room, is the bed on the left or the right side of the room?
- Desired configuration: high loft or high captain
- Work orders can be submitted online: housing.uiowa.edu/fix-it. Once received, your bed will be adjusted in the order in which it was received.
Prepare your room
- Our facilities team will visit your room between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday to adjust configurations.
- A clear path is needed to adjust the bed.
- Personal items should be removed from the bed and area.
Reminders
- We work quickly to complete all bed configuration changes. Please understand that bed changes may not occur within our normal 48-hour work order turnaround time.
- Unique room layouts may not accommodate all bed requests.
- All furniture must remain in the room when a bed is configured.
